Shhh...shhh...quiet down guys, I think they are coming out. I think they're here.
Surprise! The Gist! We watched Lady Bird - directed by Greta Gerwig (2018). A highly anticipated movie in 2017, and a chic indie teen romance in 2021. On the other side of the coast we are introduced to Lady Bird, a senior in Sacramento, CA. She is an adolescent twerp that then blooms into a self realized altruistic freshman in college. We talked about the realness every character emits to the audience, and how Timothee Chalamet could not have been written more like a millennial Kyle. In the past two movies, there has been a strong sense of character struggle; an inner jihad of the mind and soul. We might continue this talk later next week.
Stay tuned for more! For more of the same, please go back and listen to our other meetings from the Fall 2020 semester. You can also join in on the fun and watch a movie with us! Contact the Facebook page, email us, or start your own watch party at home!
See you all next week!
